Official and legal procedure

COS = Legal Status Change

Change of Status is a legal USCIS process that allows eligible individuals already in the United States to change their visa status to F-1 student without leaving the country.

Students who maintain lawful status and meet the requirements have approval rates of around 95% in typical cases.

* Individual outcomes depend on personal circumstances and U.S. immigration law.

In eligible programs, CPT may let you gain practical experience with U.S. companies and receive authorized compensation as part of your studies.

CPT / OPT

Simple idea: Current visa → Change of Status to F-1 → English studies → Higher education → CPT → Immigration opportunities.

Important: CPT is only available in eligible programs and must be authorized according to school and immigration rules. Immigration strategy should be discussed with a licensed attorney.
